The legions of Trimet and police fare enforcers does not seem to be doing the trick in getting people to pony up their $2.50.
How do I know that? Because I listen to the Trimet scanner and can hear what's going on in real time.
The number of repeat offenders is incredible. Some of them have 5 or more violations yet they continue in the same behavior.
I've always wondered what the severest penalty for ignoring the transit fines and exclusions is?
What can it be when people with 5 or more violations/exclusions continue acting in exactly the same manner?
Is it really possible to put someone in jail for transit fare evasion?
