Sam The Man and his cadre of mangers need input about what is needs to be done about “operators safety “?

Gee, where has he been for the last 18 month as the No. 2 man at TriMet?

I guess a few more brain storming meetings, then form a blue ribbon committee to make formal recommendations that in turn will be presented before the TriMet Board of Directors.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Henry Beasley will keep tally of the ever rise number of assaults on operators.

I sure glad the TriMet Board of Directors spent the big bucks in world wide search for the best CEO they could find for the position.

Granted , Sam has a great smile…a friendly disposition…willing to spend taxpayers money to distract from the fact of doing any real policy changes ie SIP, Accident Reviews,On Time Performance to just a name a few issues that really do not need any group think meetings…just the will and the leadership to make changes.

The problems of safety is an issue that is not sole problem of this transit agency but across the country.  Many articles have been published on how to mitigate crime…there is no reason to reinvent the wheel.  The analogy that comes to mind to describe these meetings is :
As Rome burned…Nero played his fiddle.
