TriMet's problem intersection on E. Burnside also includes bike/MAX collision
I'm sure since it involves bikes, and MAX, that this will get TOP consideration and priority.
When it involves sidewalks and crosswalks to get to a bus stop, it's OK not to be safe. (Or, just blame the Operator.)
When I read the bikeportland.org post, there is no safety issue. The bicyclist clearly violated a signal. The only "fault" is in not giving him a nice big traffic ticket, AND also citing him for interfering with public transit. There's a huge signal there, the MAX tracks aren't hard to see, and MAX trains aren't quiet on curves.
