On December 27, 2013, OHSU announced, on the Staff News
blog, increased subsidies for the TriMet bus-pass program, resulting in
reduced prices for the bus passes. However, the changes were limited to
unclassified employees and employees represented by the Oregon Nurses
Association. In the blog post,
OHSU stated that it would be reaching out to the AFSCME leadership to
initiate discussion on this issue, which they have done.
As
with any negotiations, there are trade-offs. OHSU is now proposing
that it will extend the TriMet subsidy increases to AFSCME-represented
employees if Local 328 agrees to 15-minute timekeeping-rounding
window. (Note: ONA did agree to the timekeeping-rounding and bus-pass
changes during their recent negotiations).
