My son was eating an apple on the bus the other day and the bus driver made us put it away.
Always wondered about this strange web sites. Lots of people comment on them.
There exist what my SO and I refer to as "control freak" trimet drivers. They attempt to control passengers' language even,......................
Just like the variety of customers that ride TriMet there is a variety of Operators that drive the busses. I am an operator that drives bus for TriMet. I would like to point something out to all our customers that maybe they have not thought about. Every person is unique in their own special way and what one person might think is no big deal another might think different. I am guessing that you are an attentive parent and I am happy to hear that your son is eating something healthy. I have seen many types of parents riding the bus with their children. As an operator we are exposed to all types good and bad. Sad to say that the bad ones tend to stick in our minds more then the good ones. We have watched while a child would start to eat something then spit it out all over the seat and floor while the parent ignored the child and talked on their phone. Then they would leave leaving the mess for someone else to sit in and/or deal with. I am sure that would not have been the case with you. I just wanted to point out that there are many ways to view an operator and before you lock in on a thought please try to imagine all the different types of people and how many come on the bus every day. Operators drive anywhere from 6 to 14 hours a day, 3 to 6 days a week so we are exposed to a lot over time.
I just wanted to put my 2 cents worth in and try my best to keep things more in a positive light. Personally I feel that life is to short to sweat the small stuff. Just do your best to keep having the best day you can and move forward.
Thank you for posting on here and staying in touch with what is going on around us. The more you know the stronger you are. I hope you run across more positive drivers then negative. Take Care.

Well if they knew that there have not been regular cleaning of the buses since the begining of 2011, eating anything of buses is a risky thing.
