Never enough bureaucrats at Trimess. They got no money for three hour transfers and they only got a little money to restore some buses but they got all the money in the world to spend on salaries of people that don't actually serve the public.
And now, they are hiring a special executive to research the whole subject of administrative salaries.
UnFreaking Believable.

Design, plan, implement and manage the Districts compensation programs, policies and procedures. Responsible for achieving the District’s desired position in the market related to compensation and performance management. (it should be noted that there really is no 'market' for transit planners and the like, they make their own market. 'Market' implies that there is public demand for some product of service which does not hold true for transit executives. They create the market to boost their pay)

Is anybody watching any of this?
This company is running rouge and its getting worse.
I'm watching. I'm listening. What can I do? I don't have the resources to transit to/from work any other way. My threats are empty threats. My work gives me a sticker for around $300-$400 pre-tax (it's like $16/pay period x 26) and they subsidize the rest. I can't beat it with a car that I don't even have. My hours are roughly regular but there's generally some variation on either end of the day, so carpooling isn't a really good option. Even if I do TriMet half time, based on roughly 20 work days per month that's 10 days at $5/day post-tax. Still a better deal to do the sticker.
I believe I've considered most reasonable possibilities. TriMet has me by the testicles. I need them in order to not dick up our budget.
Hey when you're right you're right
