Seasoned Trimet riders should know that when there is an event in downtown Portland Trimet becomes extremely unreliable (much worse than the day to day reliability). If you are transit dependent than you must plan your transit ride at least one hour and preferably 2 hours earlier than you would do on a regular day. The city of Portland basically shuts down for these special events and anyone traveling through Portland is secondary to the event. These events are very important to Portland's tourism trade and tourists are #1 on the cities priority list.
