"A cup of coffee directly at the operator"

Dispatched to 943 for assault on a Operator. @ 09:50am
Arrived at 10:00am.
Found police on scene taking statement of Operator X.  She stated to me that a elderly man had boarded her bus at Newman and Fiske, showing her a expired transfer from yesterday.  She explained to him it was no good and he would need to come up and pay a new fare, he started to curse at her while walking back a seat.  She told him that sitting down wouldn't take way the fact he needed to pay a new fare.
He started up still cursing loudly tried to put a dollar in the box, she offered help and gave him a transfer, she had felt the would be the end of it and he would sit and calm down.  But it got louder and he directed to her while walking back the the seat, she then told him after opening the back door that he could continue and exit while he was at it.  Instead of leaving he turned and moved closer the operator and then threw the hot cup of coffee directly at the operator, hitting the fare box and all the floor.
Then he ran from the bus, and the operator tried to follow the person with the bus but lost him. 

Operator stated she was not injured and didn't request any medical.

Officer x felt from the description he knew who the man is.

Office X requested tape to be pulled and he would put a line up with photos to see if she could ID the man.

White male, 75, bearded, coveralls with dementia.

They would be in contact with operator

Requested Operator to call dispatch and fill out reports if requested.
