It must be nice that TriMet has a whole staff of people who sit around and do nothing but shop for light rail cars. Meanwhile, us bus riders get shafted in creaky old buses that break down regularly, and don't even ask for things like HVAC systems, PA systems, or even working destination signs so we know where the bloody bus is going.
Since TriMet argues that capital projects are paid for with a different budget, do these light rail car buyers get fired once they've made their purchase? If not, then they must be paid out of the general fund budget, so I'm proud that my annual pass dollars go to such wise payroll decisions, like paying someone a six figure salary to pick out the colors of a MAX seat.
