Trimet activist HB

I want to warn you about voter suppression. What I mean about this is that these elections “are” rigged.
Bear with me a minute. Think back to “the” most important issue that “we” faced “the compromise”. Think about how many people got the opportunity to vote? Think about a mailer going out to an outdated mail box, with your name not forwarded? Think about the Brothers and Sisters, who did not get to vote? Think about the total of collected votes (900ish out of 2500), and the total percentage that passed this compromise (4%)? Think about it for another minute, say for instance all other contracts voted with a 100% tally (the way it should be), they make up only 46% of the total vote, as far as I know, they have no candidates running (a shame), they only know of the incumbents. While Brothers and Sisters in Trimet make up the other 54% of the total vote, and if recent history repeats itself, there will only be 4% counted, this “is” rigged to favor the incumbents.
This form of mailer system does not work, due to the out dated information. This system should be scrapped immediately, and voting should be extended to gather 100% of the Trimet vote. I know that “we (2 of us)” got “our” ballots on Saturday (the 2nd) and it needs to be in by the 15th of this month. What about other Brothers and Sisters who are on vacations, or sick and have no access to vote? Did they get e-mails with the options of who they want to vote for? They matter as part of “our” union, and not be suppressed, to give the incumbents the clear advantage MIA voters. Just like with the “compromise”, I know of a dozen or so Brothers and Sisters who have not received their ballots. This “is” clearly voter suppression at its finest.
Lastly, my proposal would be with the Trimet vote, is to start over, with the ballots sent to the garages/stations with the employee’s number for their ballot, then placed in a locked box, with a check off sheet attached with each employees name or employee work number. Then collected at the 30 day mark from when the ballots were sent out. This would mean that “all” Brothers and Sisters would be counted in the 90% range and not the 4%, that favors the incumbents.
