Yes, the Starlight Parade shuttles were run

So, extra bus service for MAX riders - no extra shuttle service for riders in the rest of the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon who don't live near a MAX line?
Also, would it really be better if TriMet didn't accept advertisements from places/events outside the district, even when a rider's TriMet fare will still get them there?
Wouldn't it be better for TriMet to use its marketing campaign "See where it takes you" and "What makes this place great" to promote places and events one can get to by using TriMet?
I don't see Alaska Airlines advertising its "service" to Atlanta, Georgia - even though your Alaska Airlines ticket is valid.
I thought that those were the shuttles you were referring to. After all, those are the ones (and only ones) that have been run in previous years.
Also, why do you seem to be assuming that TriMet paid/didn't charge for the ad? When I enlarged it, I didn't see any of the "See where it takes you" or "What makes this place great" that generally appear on TriMet-sponsored ads (ones where TriMet accepts event sponsor rights or something in lieu of cash). It looks to me like a standard purchased space.
In addition, while TriMet no longer operates any of the service to Vancouver, it is still possible to get there on a TriMet fare and take TriMet most of the way there.
Oh, and while it doesn't qualify as shuttle service, they did have extra buses run trips on lines that were crowded, including, I believe, the 12 to Sherwood.
