Through the Trimet public request process (which I did not get charged for by the way) I wanted to verify all the charges that the benefits have more than doubles. Since there was only one factor that is variable, health insurance, I surmised that that must be the problem.
Since John Charles's charts are all for they year 2001-20012 I requested the total cost for my health coverage during those years. Here is what I found, John Charles claims costs went up by a factor of 4 but the reality is that cost went up by a factor of 3, which is obviously still significant. The unrelenting hiring and expansion is exacerbating the problem not to mention that the management has seen fit to leave the union pensions unfunded while making sure their own are funded. The executives that have hijacked American transit have made a mockery out of it
