TriMet driver stabbing -- third in less than a year -- prompts agency to add security guards at rest stops

Hamad, who was driving the No. 71 line, was on break and leaving the permanent layover facility near Southeast 94th and Foster Road under I-205. Police said the driver and his attacker may have exchanged words.
As the driver turned to walk away, the stranger reportedly stabbed him three times – twice in the stomach and once in chest – with a small utility knife, said Bruce Hansen, president of Amalgamated Transit Union 757, the union representing TriMet operators.
