TRIMET STABBING

A TriMet driver was stabbed about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday in Southeast Portland.
Police and medics arrived at the scene near Southeast 94th Avenue and Foster Road, where three TriMet lines stop. Sgt. Pete Simpson, spokesman for Portland police, said the suspect fled, running west on Southeast Foster Road.
The suspect was described as being in his mid-30s, wearing black pants, a green T-shirt, with brown hair and tattoos on his neck.
Roberta Altstadt said the driver was not in the bus at the time but was on duty. She said the operator was taken to an area hospital.
"We're very concerned about the operator," she said.
She did not provide information about which bus line was affected. When asked the passengers, she indicated that it happened at a busy stop that's served by other lines.
"Our supervisors are headed to the scene," she said.
