Nothing tells the true tale of Trimet better than their arrogant expectation that riders inconvenience themselves due to Trimet's inability to keep their TVM's in service. Its the single most outrageous action taken by the Trimet oligarchy. (after the secret raises while cutting service and raising fares) These people think riders time means nothing. Government at its very worst. Do it our way or face a day in court. WOW
After a lull in bad TVM tweets and dispatch calls they are once again starting to appear more and more. Looks like the fix was only temporary. At least the phone app is available that should take care of some of this mess for the regular riders

Actually, the TVM 'fix' itself is not temporary...for once it's not the actual hardware that is the biggest problem.
Staffing in the fare maint. dept. is becoming a large issue-one worker retired and another bid into a different dept. in the last month, and no replacements available due to lack of foresight to start more apprentices a couple of years ago. And at least one more to bid out and 2 or 3 to retire by the end of the year.
Also a problem is the spare parts situation...no (or very little spares for the new (refurbed) TVMs.
And of course there are the famous 'butt jammers' who knock out the bill acceptors and not much is being done to remedy that, even though there are devices to limit the impact there.
Of course the biggest problem is that none of these problems fall under capitol projects so good luck seeing any action there!!!
Tri Met Lift sucks. Today I waited 90 minutes and was told the bus was in the tunnel still on 26 and that the bus was coming. I waited and waited to have my walker repaired in SE Portland and was being told when I called 3 times to dispatch that the bus was in the tunnel Still. My window was 9:00 to 9:30 am. The other night on 2/03/2017 my lift bus did not show up and I got stuck at the church till 11 pm when my window was 9 to 9:30 pm. I was told there was tons and tons of traffic everywhere and that there was 16 inches of snow on the ground which was a LIE!!!!!!!!. I walked to the road and no snow and no ice. My brother who is older had to come and get me and he was angry. They still did not show up to get me and Customer Service NEVER EVER called me back to tell me after leaving two messages wanting to know why I was not picked up that Friday night at Forest Grove Assembly of God Church. I fail to understand why I am considered a second class citizen because someone thinks I am mentally deficient. I am physically challenged and not mentally challenged. Lift Customers need to be treated better and not left to the wind to rot. I have never been treated so bad in all my life by any bus service in any state that I have lived in. All I am asking is WHY???????????????? Why the crappy treatment?
