Peter William Taylor
October 21, 1944 – July 1, 2012
Beloved Husband, Father and Papa, Pete Taylor, a Linfield College Football Hall of Famer loved campfires on the beach, fishing, opera, and the rain on the roof of his greenhouse. He served Portland for 42 years at Tri-Met. We will miss his sharp wit, poetry and big open arms.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lester and leaves behind his wife Kathleen; daughters Anna and Sierra; his son in law Arron and grandson Connor; his mother Grace; sister Margret and brother Dan and all the others he proudly called family.
A memorial will be held on July 15, 2012 at 3pm at St. Luke Lutheran Church. 6835 SW 46th AVE. 97219. Stories and remembrances welcomed at: remembering.pete.taylor@gmail.com

The Sad truth here is he got his full medical for life after he retired. I wish someone could get it out to the public that we might get full beniies for life, but in too many cases it isn't more than a year.

Thank you so much for posting this! It is wonderful to hear all the stories about Dad's life outside our little family.

Man! I was just reading on this blog Pete's retirement farewell to his fellow employees in March! I wish that he could have had more time after Trimet.
Makes the manner of his retirement, abruptly forced on him by an uncaring manager all the more shameful.
As I commented upon hearing of his retirement, I considered him one of the true good guys at Trimet.
I truly regret I will not be able to attend Pete's memorial. I have a long-planned obligation that it's best I attend. Please know this hurts as I had the utmost respect for this man amongst men and valued his wisdom above many others. May he rest in tranquility and always catch his limit.
