I stumbled across this I have this to say about Joe Ruffin. See, Joe has been an old friend of my husband since school back in the 1980's. Every once in a while Joe will pop in just to check in to see how my husband is doing. It may be a while but the one thing Joe doesn't forget is, YOU! My husband Martin grew up in an unstable home. His mother was plague by severe mental health condition and his father left Marty and his mother when he was young. He and his mother got by on very little and Marty often relied on free meals at school for food. Joe's home was a 2nd home to Marty and they welcomed him. They fed him and let him hang out often, even me when I became Marty's girlfriend! Joe had a significant and powerful impact that helped Marty get by during the most turbulent times at home and within his neighborhood. Marty had every reason not to make it, but the stability of Joe's friendship helped Marty become the wonderful husband and father that he is today! Leanne Seward
