THE QUESTION OF WILSONVILLE

Wilsonville left the TRIMET transit district on its own accord.
So the question is, WHY IS TRIMET PROVIDING WES SERVICE TO WILSONVILLE?
Willsonville should be paying for the WES service, not TRIMET employees and TriMet bus riders!

Wilsonville does not want to pay for the future financial implosion, smart!

Now I'm moving there for sure.

Wilsonville is supposed to be making a contribution towards WES operating expense for, IIRC, five years. After that, Wilsonville could end the agreement.

Problem is, TriMet is stuck serving Wilsonville because TriMet in their wonderous planning put the commuter rail shop in Wilsonville. Even if Wilsonville doesn't pay TriMet, TriMet still has to run trains to/from Wilsonville.

TriMet COULD have built the WES shop in Beaverton...heck, it could have been built next to Merlo or Elmonica. (Of course, the WES station in Beaverton wouldn't be at Beaverton TC, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.) Or, it could have been built south of 5th Avenue, next to 217 in that land that is owned by the state but can't really be used for anything else. Or on the ODOT maintenance yard near the Progress exit, north of the Hall/Nimbus station.

WV is paying for WES service. They even raised their tax rate to pay for it.

If WV is paying for WES then why is TRIMET?
