Real management incident reports
I received a call from Dispatch that BOAC had an Officer that wanted a supervisor to call him back, X said she had no further information at the time she took the call.
I called Officer XXX
He wanted to report that he had been almost hit by one of our buses twice in two different crosswalks, and wanted us to deal with the operator.
The bus he reported was #1764 L/T 38/69 Operator XXX.
The officer stated that he was at the first crosswalk about 5:00 pm at 1st and he stated Clay (I think he was at 1st and Market where the bus turns left) the bus was turning left onto first from Columbia when the bus almost hit him while he was in the crosswalk, and the second time at Naito when the driver was on 1st making the right to Naito he stated the driver was all the way in the cross walk on 1st waiting for the light to make his right and then the officer wanted to see if the bus would yield for him as he got his walk signal to cross and when his light came up the officer stepped into the street and the bus also attempted to turn while the officer was in the street, again he stated that the bus would have hit him had he not stepped back onto the curb and the bus hadn’t slowed down. He did understand the drivers have schedules and time to keep but felt the driver wasn’t paying close enough attention to pedestrians.
The conversation was a bit hard to follow, but I did have him as you suggested call the XXX number to make a official complaint, and he stated he would.
I had X meet the operator upon his return to the Merlo garage and speak to him about what he remembers at those locations. X will submit his report as well.
