"It is unfair to collect payroll taxes from all over the region then use it to subsidize economic activity in central Portland," Duyck wrote on March 6, "especially when basic transit services are being reduced or eliminated elsewhere. This equity principle should also apply to the region’s tax payers subsidizing free youth pass for all students in Portland’s public school system."
Washington County and TriMet have maintained an unusually close working relationship over the years: The county's lobbyist is married to TriMet's lobbyist.(OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!)

Neil and his staff got caught and then called out by Mayor Adams & City Council and they are clearly in a jam.
When you back door citizen groups like OPAL, City of Portland, blame ATU, and try to finess a reso titled "Moving Together" hoping it won't raise eyebrows..you merely only confirm the fear that the current TriMet management and this Board is unbalanced and do not possess the necessary skills to run a transit agency.
Governor Kitzhaber..act quickly and boldly to implement leadership changes at the agency across the board. Oregon's largest transit provider and it's transit riders are at stake.
