- TriMet says construction of the $1.5 billion Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail line reached “a major milestone” today. What is it? The first rail being set into the earth? No. The transit bridge is done? Nope. Nothing like that. "Year 2 of construction begins," TriMet trumpeted in a weekend press release. In other words, the earth continues to rotate around the sun. (Insert joke about wishing your bus showed with such consistency.)

I find it interesting that in planning, the bridge was referred to as a "transit bridge".
Now, it's EXCLUSIVELY being referred to as a "LIGHT RAIL" Bridge.
I'm sure that the TriMet apologists that proclaim that there's no anti-bus bias at TriMet have a perfectly, perfectly logical explanation as to why it's no longer being called a "Transit" bridge, but specifically a "Light Rail" bridge......
