Interesting and maybe clever to go after the Trimet rider age group that (rightfully) complains the most on social media (Twitter) about the abysmal state of ticket vending machines.

Give them a phone app to buy tickets, thereby occupying their impatient minds with creating the ticket on their own phone, thereby offloading the ticket machine fail back onto the customer. Diabolic!

I refuse to use that app. My phone battery won't allow it, and I don't have money on my card. I'm not gonna get a ticket on the MAX because my phone died.

Haha!
Global Sherpa gets a huge piece of this money too!

I think Globe Sherpa gets 5%, which is essentially the same as what Safeway/Albertson/etc gets when you buy a book of tickets -- which is the cheapest way to pay your fare (other than passes) -- much cheaper than a TVM or paying cash.

I think it's more than that Max.
There's a post about it here somewhere
