BART AND TRIMET-2 PEAS IN A POD

The similarities are eery, a bad faith negotiator, a greedy general manager, the same exact propaganda techniques, it's like these transit districts that are intent on destroying their labor force are working off some sort of template or manual.

Hock, a transportation labor consultant, was hired as BART's chief negotiator for up to $400,000. BART has traditionally used outside consultants to handle its always contentious contract negotiations with its unions, although its general manager is in charge.
"The strike was caused by a bad general manager, bad management style and a union-busting negotiator who has refused to bargain in good faith by refusing to show up at the bargaining table," said John Arantes, a member of SEIU Local 1021's bargaining team.
Union officials also accused Hock of going on vacation while he was supposed to be bargaining. But BART officials said he was meeting with a state mediator Thursday and planned to be at a Friday face-to-face session with SEIU and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1555.
Workers also took aim at Crunican, criticizing her for bad management and for accepting a $20,000 raise.

There is one big difference between  the BART union and the Trimet union, BART workers have complete solidarity with each other, no such solidarity with TRIMET workers.
