Real Trimet supervisory reports:
Location of Incident: SB 122nd and Davis
I was notified by Dispatch that there had been a Incident on 71/44 where some youths tried to steal some transfers and that there was some sort of a physical confrontation. I met the bus at 122nd and Stark and asked the Operator if he was OK. The Operator told me he was OK and able to continue. The Operator told the facts of what had happened. This Operator does vacation reliefs so this is not his regular run. The Operator stated that at the SB stop at 122nd and Davis 5 African american youths boarded his bus. There were 4 males and 1 female. These youths tried sticking 3 bogus tickets in the fare boxes that had long since expired and wanted transfers. The Operator informed these subjects that the tickets were no good and asked them to de-board his bus. This seem to make them angry and they grabbed for the transfers. The Operator put his hand over the transfers and they grabbed his wrist and hand and tried to move it out of the way. They were not succesfull. The youths exited the bus and the Operator then called Dispatch. Dispatch in turn called this Incident into 911. After my short discussion with the Operator I cleared him to roll. About this time one of our Transit Officers came on the air and wanted the bus stopped so that they could conduct an interview. Dispatch then had the bus pull over at Morrison. Officers X r and Y arrived and got a description of all 5 youths. While they were conducting their interview they got a call from Portland PD that they had a person in custody from the 122nd WB MAX Platform and that they would be bringing him to our location for the Operator to indentify. I requested the Data Pack be pulled on the bus and the police asked if I could also get the Data Pack pulled on the 122ns MAX Platform. I was succesfull with the Bus Data Pack but informed that the police would have to call to get the MAX tape pulled. When the police arrived the suspect was taken out of the Police car and the person that they had was one of the 5 involved. This person was transfered from Portland Police to our Transit Police.
Additional: This was the second time this same Operator this week has had a Incident with these same youths.
