We love the Streetcar!!
S.W. Naito Parkway & Harrison Street, approximately 11:45 AM Friday May 4, 2012.
The black car (yeah, it's a little hard to see) is broken down in the left turn lane on Harrison - the lane shared with the streetcar. Portland Police has its lights on and is blocking the lane, and the tow truck had just pulled up.
Now, if I were the cop, I would have just pushed the car out of the way as it's downhill (there is a reason that police cars are equipped with push bars)...but then there isn't much of a place to go...go straight on Harrison, you lose the second lane and would block the bike lane and part of the streetcar lane. Turn the car onto Naito, there's no shoulder so you block a lane. There is a parking lot to the north but it's a bit of a push.
