This is the lie that was pumped by the Trimet executives via the mainstream media into the minds of the citizens of the greater Portland area for six years.
Our union was totally impotent in dealing with this false propaganda.
Our week kneed union leadership finally gave into the false propaganda and capitulated to the the Trimet executives giving them what they wanted when the fight began
In the chart below we see for ourselves that Trimet actually has one of the lowest costs per ride in the United States of America.
How could that be possible if we truly had 'the richest health benefits' in the country. It was a lie then and its a lie now.
