PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The union for bus drivers who serve elderly and disabled passengers in Oregon's Multnomah and Washington counties has announced a strike.
The drivers work for First Transit, under contract with TriMet.
The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 757 says pickets went up Wednesday morning at the TriMet administration building in Portland.
The union says more than two years of negotiations have failed to produce a new labor agreement.
The union represents 270 drivers who provide door-to-door bus service for passengers with
