This concludes this list.
Subject: FW: Operators shortlining on lines 43 and 45
, I made contact with Both operators were very respectful in their conversation with me. They told me Merlo Assistant Manager had spoke to them on this issue. Both operators told me it would not happen again. I also reaffirmed that they are to shut off their engine so not to create idling noise and vibration. Both operators told me they understood and would shut their engines off at this location.
Operator is on the extra board and not available. I hope to make contact with him next week.
I also spoke with and told him how this issue was being handled. told me he liked the way this issue is being handled as long as these operators do not shortline on these two streets again.
Gentlemen,
I have not seen any action taken on this yet. At least there is nothing in the FE Reports folder. If it has not been addressed, then it needs to get done, ASAP.
Please contact the operators listed below and remind them what is expected in the area around 16th/18th Columbia/Jefferson. Document your contacts so I can let the Merlo station manager know when complete. Thanks. In fact, do your reports and send them to the FE Reports folder as I am sure our manager will want to see what is happening and others may want to view as well. See me if you have any questions.

Thank you for letting me know about this. Please assign supervisors to this task and we will also follow up here.
Thank you again.

I asked road supervisor to send me this email. As you can see we have a few operators that have decided to ignore their instructions. I am sending you this so your staff can follow up with these operators or, if you so desire, I will assign supervisors to meet and greet and respectfully ask for their compliance. No SOR’s were submitted as we in field ops did not observe the alleged violations.
Subject: Operators shortlining on lines 43 and 45
, On Wednesday afternoon 5/25/11, on the Board of Directors for The Goose Hollow Alliance met me on the corner of S.W. Columbia st. at S.W. 17th ave. Mr. handed me a list of bus numbers, times and days in which Mr. told me personally observed turning left from S.W. Jefferson st. onto S.W. 17th ave. and the left onto S.W. Columbia st., to the layover on S.W. Columbia st. at S.W. 16th ave.
Mr. gave me his phone number if you should have any questions.
Upon looking up the bus numbers, times and days in which Mr. had written down, here are the results
5/20/11
Bus 1723, 45/69 @ 07:11, Operator #
Bus 1775, 43/67 @ 08:50, Operator #
Bus 1775, 43/67 @ 10:42, Operator #
Bus 1775, 43/67 @ 12:41, Operator
5/23/11
Bus 1834, 45/68 @ 08:51, Operator #
Bus 1834, 45/68 @ 11:02, Operator #
Bus 1834, 45/68 @ 13:04, Operator
Bus 1724, 43/67 @ 08:51, Operator
Bus 1724, 43/67 @ 14:41, Operator #
5/24/11
Bus 1834, 43/67 @ 08:49, Operator
Bus 1834, 43/67 @ 12:42, Operator
Bus 1834, 43/67 @ 14:41, Operator
5/25/11
Bus 1836, 43/70 @ 07:45, Operator
Bus 1838, 43/67 @ 10:45, Operator
Bus 1838, 43/67 @ 14:41, Operator – (also bus was idling 6 to 7 minutes)
The route description clearly states for lines 43 and 45 to VL onto S.W. 18th ave. from S.W. Jefferson st. continue around Collins Circle onto S. W. Columbia st.
These buses should not be shortlining from S.W. Jefferson st. to S.W. Columbia st. via S.W. 17th ave. or S.W. 16th ave. as per the complaints which have come from the community and the Goose Hollow Alliance.
Can anything be done to keep these operators and future operators from shortlining on S.W. 17th ave. and S.W16th ave?
