Always money available for the useless in that hog trough
Q: What
do the latest developments with the Columbia River Crossing (CRC) mean for
TriMet?
A: The Washington State
legislature chose not to consider a funding bill for Washington’s share of the
project. As a result, the OR and WA governors have issued instructions to close
down the Project office, effectively ending the CRC project that would have
replaced the Interstate 5 bridge between Oregon and Washington. The project
would also have extended the Yellow Line into Vancouver, WA. The five Capital
Project employees working at the project office will be transitioned to other
ongoing Capital Projects work.

Knowing Neil, these people were signed to contracts so they would be paid whether they had any work or not.
Good, does that mean five Capital Projects employees FIRED (because, after all, they are term-limited employees limited only to the terms of the contract they are working on, so with no CRC they should have been given their walking papers)...
OR...does that mean five Capital Projects employees to work on enhancing bus stops, BRT and new bus purchases? Seeing how there is a lack of Capital Projects employees working on bus capital projects...
