TRIMET HEGEMONY MARCHES ON

Landlord Tom Fender, who bought the property earlier this year, said he received a registered letter out of the blue from TriMet a few weeks ago letting him know his land was one of two the agency was considering—with mention, as part of its notice, of the possibility of eminent domain.
Eminent domain, for those who don't know, is when a government agency receives court permission to seize an unwilling property seller's land, with fair compensation, in the name of the public good. TriMet's no stranger to the process, having used it here and there when building its PSU and Milwaukie light-rail lines.

Someone who has an account for there and/or reddit should post this:

This is the page that has been on TriMet's Web site for some time which discusses the layover plan:
http://trimet.org/servicechange/proposed/line8.htm

It should be noted that site 2 stretches the whole block from MLK to Grand and, if correct, would include the bakery/cafe.

Overall, it seems that site 1 would be better in that it does not require left turns onto and off of MLK and is closer to the end of the route. If that owner is willing to sell, I don't see a huge problem.
