Trimet operators-know your rights!

Currently we have snow falling and accumulating in the Portland area. We are concerned for you and your family’s safety. One of the key issues that has not been resolved in previous and current negotiations is a snow and ice agreement.

Please be aware of Article 1, Section 6, Paragraphs 1 & 2 pertaining to overtime:

                        Within this section there is no mandatory overtime.

Operations, please refer to Article 2, Paragraph 2 Section H:

“any operator who has not been relieved at their scheduled relief time and point must notify Dispatch.”

If this does not happen, please refer to Article 2, Section 1, Paragraph 5D:

            You are entitled to double-time if you are not relieved one hour past the time you notified Dispatch.

Remember, if you are unable to report to work safely, please notify the Station Agent.

If you are unable to come to work please call in one hour before hand for Road Relief, 30 minutes reporting at the Garage.
