Henry tries out one of the new "leaners"
I think these are pretty useless. They might as well just save $$ for a real bench somewhere else.
Read the press release. TriMet says that these things are for when there's not enough room for a real bench. I think you're supposed to lean against them.
Personally I think TriMet should just not bother in that case, and instead save money to put in a real bench somewhere else.
BTW: The new benches (also blue -- see link above) are much nicer than the older wooden ones, though.

What the hell is the point of that? Keep homeless people from sleeping on it? TRIMET FAIL!

The 72 shelter by PCC-Cascade has one of the very first leaners, and no benches.
They are possibly the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
FAIL and its a ridiculous idea
Replace the seating arrangements at a MAX stop with these.
Replace the seating arrangements at a MAX stop with these.
Where is there a need to do this? Also, as the press notes, MAX stations do have something similar and not benches for everybody.
Well... They used to have a real bench at stop 7450, but now it's a leaner.. So the release is inaccurate to say the least...
