Police with dogs going through Center Street maintenance

We just received word that Portland Police are sweeping through the Center maintenance garage with dogs. We do not know if they are searching for explosives or something else.  People have asked what rights they have in this situation. Below is the best advice:

∙           If the dogs alert on anything, and the police want to question a worker, tell the worker to remain silent and not make any statements w/o a lawyer, saying "I'm going to remain silent and want a lawyer.").

∙           Also, if the police ask to search anything, tell the worker to not verbally consent to the search (but not to resist), saying "I do not consent to a search.

What totally moronic advice. Refuse search, they'll get a warrant and you'll be unemployed.

So they get a warrant come back do a search and find nothing. Seems appropriate to me.

If ya ain't got nothin ta hide and you shouldn't on company property unless your a complete moron, since you ARE on company property you and your property are subject to search.

Deal with it.

This happened at Ruby Junction a while back, just a random sweep, and they (cops) actually found what they said was meth in the Ruby South (MOW) building, supposedly verified by testing.
Naturally, no one stepped forward to claim it, and all employees were called into meeting and told whoever it belonged to would be found and punished...
Not sure if that ever happened, but honestly, how stupid can you be to bring that(or anything else illegal) to work?
Not that that any employer should resort to such tactics (or maybe they should), but as long as idiots exist, what can you expect (from either side)???

I thought that is why they have drug testing

The only places I have ever heard of that people are subject to random searches are jails and prisons.
But then again Trimet is a type of prison for sure.

All, you're really grasping at straws here. Seriously thinking that they are going through the garage for meth is just insane Al. How the hell did you come up with that assumption? Would you rather not see them and a car get blown to bits with a driver inside? Slow your roll. By telling people to tell the cops that they want lawyer just tells the cops you are guilty. You hit a new extreme, Al. I didn't think you would hit it.

WAIT! Is that the same Lane Jensen that the white knight himself kept from jail?
And now that same Lane Jensen is questioning the white knight?
That's what you get Al, we warned you about him, Lane only cares about Lane, not about you, not about Trimet, not about anything other than himself.
I bet he hasn't given you one dime towards his bail has he?
