LANE JENSEN HAS SOMETHING UP HIS SLEEVE

Lane Jensen, one of my favorite Trimet bloggers, has something up his sleeve for tomorrows puppets meeting. Interestingly enough 'they' won't have a quorum so 'they' changed the board meeting into a board briefing and are prohibiting any public testimony. Now why would they prohibit public testimonies. Board briefings don't include public testimonies but summarily changing this months board meeting into a briefing and then prohibiting public testimony looks very suspicious. What is it they don't want to hear? Could it be Lane Jensen regarding Sweitzer since Lane figured out that Esomonde was living in Sweitzers district and that nobody else seemed to notice? Could this have been in intentional act because they wanted Swietzer to remain. Those of us  that watch the goings on at Trimet know they break laws, bend rules, and out and out lie constantly, this seems like another one of their scams somehow. But we can relax because Lane Jensen has taken an interest in this and has been using his superb research skills to keep on eye on these sock puppets

As long as no vote is taken, it's 100% legal.

Public testimony is not required, even at actual board meetings where votes are taken.

Sucks? Yes. But that's the law. Don't like it? Bitching and moaning and making yourself look like an ass at a TriMet Board Meeting is NOT the way to change the law. Talk to your elected State Senator and Representative. Of course, those are the brain-dead slobs that refuse to perform any oversight of TriMet anyways, and whom rubberstamp every nominee to the TriMet Board of Directors.

Erik is right about public testimony, the board is not required to hear the public at all.

That's 'our' government for you

Actually they amended the Trimet code to include public testimonies

They are doing a continually worse job at lying. The elimination of the public comment shows so clearly that they are hiding something. Regardless of how well what Lane is planning goes, you can bet tomorrow's "briefing" is going to be a riot...

Erik, according to ORS 267.125, "The district board shall hold regular monthly meetings at a time and place fixed by the rules of the board." Kelly Runnion has ALREADY confirmed to me that this briefing tomorrow does not fall under Oregon Meeting Law, so TriMet is now breaking the law. Sorry Erik, but when they break the law I'm going to scream foul. Also, Roberts Rules of Order say they have to reschedule the meeting.
