For running a transit agency that's about 1/5th the size of TriMet, and serves a population that's about 1/8th TriMet's population, he makes a salary 1/2 that of McFarlane. Pretty decent.
However, the Governor of Oregon earns less than $100k a year, and manages an entire government far greater than TriMet. The only significant perk? Free housing, although our current Governor has decided it's more important to snuggle with his chick in his bachelor pad in Portland than Mahonia Hall. That, and a chauffeur courtesy of Oregon State Police and a government vehicle.
