WHAT TO DO IF YOU CAN'T BUY TICKET DUE TO TVM FAILURE

This idea comes from a current TRIMET driver:

Trimet is always saying they are going green . Tell the public that if they go to a trimet ticket machine and the machine is broken , pull out a five dollar bill , stick it in the validator and validate the bill . Keep the bill with them the whole day as proof of payment . If a fare inspector stops them , they simply hand the validated five dollar bill to the inspector and tell them the machine was broken ! Plus they save the paper that never came out of the ticket machine !
