Total of about 20 film crews, actor and actress were staged at Washington Park westbound platform for photo shoot. Time started at 1230 and ended at 1520. Everything went very smooth and no other issues to report at this time.

Had a brief pre-event
medical
emergency at Lloyd Center, when a woman collapsed on the EB platform as
she deboarded a train. G4S and Conrad responded before medical
personnel arrived. The woman regained
consciousness and went on her way, refusing medical transport.

Pre-Event:
Sunset TC – Julie & Stephanie
Gateway TC – Pamela
Lloyd Center – Billy & Beth
· TVMs
functioning well at all three locations.
· Was
far busier at Sunset than Gateway or Lloyd.
· Received
lots of thanks for our fare sales assistance.
Post-Event:
EB Platform – Pamela & Stephanie
WB Platform – Billy
Rover
– Julie
· Annie
served as IC.
· We
had an appropriate level of staffing, with Rail/Road Supervisors and G4S Security.
· Despite
the Thorns’ loss, fans were in fairly good spirits, and those riding MAX either had valid fares or were ready to purchase.
· Regular
MAX service met customer |
Operator said that she started smelling the smoke smell around when she first started her shift this morning but it got worst around 9am. she said that fire department could not fine anything because the smell had gone by the time they got to her location. she refused medical but was complaining of headache. She was instructed to see the station manger and let them know how she was wants to be marked off because she told me that she does not fill too well to continue driving. The mechanic checked the bus and found two loose hoses on the engine that was giving out some smoke.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Pre-event
· Hardened
the platforms at Jeld Wen and, as of 12:30, inspected all arriving customers
· As
with recent matches, high percentage of customers had fares
o Of
those who didn’t, some were rare/infrequent riders who thought (for various reasons) it was free
o Others
were people who said TVMs were not working at their boarding locations
(stations mentioned included Hollywood, Union Station/SW 5th
· Customer
Service staff at Lloyd and Sunset reported intermittent problems with their TVMs
· Customer
at Sunset reported a vehicle in the garage hit several parked cars and
left the scene. G4S officer notified appropriate authorities to respond.
Post-event
· CS
had five staff for the post, and staffed the four platform openings
o Activity
at the “mid-point” openings continues to be light
· We
learned, just as crowd was about to exit, that we did not have the two eastbound extra service trains.
o Seems
the runs were not assigned by station agent
o We
did have the two westbound extra trains
· As
a result, the eastbound trains we did have left very full (and at least one left several dozen passengers behind).
o But
crowd remained patient. The fact that match ended in the afternoon, and weather was nice, combined to make for a less-frenzied exit than we experience for evening matches
· Crowd
in general was well behaved, (very little evidence of inebriated customers) and quite satisfied with the Timbers 3-0 victory.

At approximately 17:00 hours, while doing my Corner Duty at SW 5th and SW Pine, I observed a man attempting to board L/T 3504, Bus 2151. I noticed the man board, and then realized that I did not see him through the front windshield. When I approached the bus, I could see him sitting on the top step of the stairs, trying to gather his cans of beer, empty/ partial/ and full. He was also looking for the cigarette that he was smoking. He had dropped the cigarette on the first step. As he was gathering his partial beer, and other cans, he told me that he had stumbled, not fallen. He said that he did not need medical, and gather up his belongings, and got off the bus with me. I told the operator, , to call at the end of his shift.
The man told me that his name was George , and he gave me his D.O.B., and pertinent information. A record check revealed a previous history with TriMet, including exclusions for alcoholic beverages. He was not currently excluded. I excluded him for alcoholic beverage, under TMC 28.15B9. I explained it to him, and gave him both yellow copies. I did suggest to Dispatch, to send a page to the Claims Dept., requesting them to pull the data pack, and review it. I was clear at 17:18 hours.

Normal crowd standing too close to white strip tiles and had to yell for them to one step back as trains
approaches.
---------------------------------------
I only saw one area that needed improvement. On 104th and Foster the police had it to one lane on each side and traffic backed up pretty bad and delayed the buses. At around 12:30 Pm the opened up all lanes and traffic was fine after that. Buses were only delayed in all areas few seconds to 2 minutes.
------------------------------------------
I was stationed at NE Ida and NE Lombard for the parade. Prior to the parade I assisted in posting temp. stop closures.
The beginning of the reroute at 8 am was timely because vendors were beginning to set up their booths in the downtown area and it was very crowded.
The only difficulty I encountered was with the 75s’ making right turns from Ida onto Lombard going eastbound to get back on regular route. It is a very tight turn but we worked with the police to stop traffic and get the buses through.

---------------------------------------------
I hung signs before the event then I was stationed at st. Louis and Ivanhoe to monitor busses and insure that they are on the reroute. Everything went smoothly we had enough staffing and the busses went on reroute at 8am and it was a good time for them to do so because traffic was too busy on Lombard during the set up. I left after the line 75 was on reroute part 2 the bazaar was still going on and will not be over until 8pm.
--------------------------------
I WAS POSTED AT THE BUMP-THRU. 4TH & SHERIDEN, EVERY THING WENT WELL, THE PORTLAND PD AT THAT LOCATION WERE VERY HELPFUL IN BUMPING OUR BUSES THROUGH. I WILL RECOMMEND THIS SHIFT TO BE A 5 AM TO 1 PM SHIFT BECAUSE IT DOES CLEAR EARLY
---------------------------------
A lot of revenue was not captured here for all the people wanting to purchase tickets to ride the train from this event home. ALL FOUR TVM’S WERE DOWN. Is it worth Customer Service selling tickets in such a situation? Or maybe ensuring TVM’s working for said event?
---------------------------------------------
Pretty large crowd, district supervisor was dealing with the 405 switches at RQ so it was unattended by them. But folks were orderly and the trains held for the crowds.
------------------------------------------
Inspection
effort was a full hardening for both pre and post event
· Very
few customers without valid fare (less than 10 on EB platform, about double that
on the WB side)
· Majority
of fare sales at Jeld-Wen EB during pre-event was because of TVMs being unaccessible; no complaints from customers but just an observation
· Lloyd
Center seemed to be slower for Timbers fans, but there were still plenty of tourists to help with trip-planning (on the West-end near Doubletree; most Timbers customers coming
from East-end of the platform)
· Large
percentage of the crowd remained until the end of the match (ending with a draw); crowd seemed a bit more subdued than usual
· Game
started about on time, so no service issues regarding missed Red Lines during the post-event
· We’ve
noticed a heavier scalper presence encroaching on the platforms; G4S
asked them to move back to allow for flow of customers and this helped
· Extra
service trains were deployed well
-------------------------------------
Yamhill Between 5th and 4th was closed. Sign said Trains only. Are we going to allow shuttles through there or do we get an addendum to the reroute?
Besides the closed street,
Remind drivers that we are expecting passengers to buy fares. Had 3 of the xtra service had no idea fare was required.

10-15 minute service delays on rail alignment for all lines
I was at !0th and Columbia. Rerouted 36 and 58 Left on 10th
Right on Salmon right on 5th
ave. once Clear I moved to Broadway and Burnside to Bump Lines 12, 17,
19, 20 THROUGH REGULAR ROUTE ONCE PROTESTERS HAD CLEARED.
-----------------------------------
The event went smoothly. I was stationed at the beginning of the route (9th/Washington) and was tasked with following the route. It was schedule to start at 4:00 pm however they didn’t begin marching till closer to 4:30pm. Police blocked SW Washington @ Park shortly after 4 so it was necessary for me to reroute 2 line 15’s and 2 line 51’s before they ever started marching. Once the marchers started they never stopped until they completed the route. There were approx. 500 marchers and it took approx. 10 minutes at any given location for the procession to clear. It was necessary to have as many supervisors as we did because this allowed us to have someone at every key location to manually reroute buses. Because of the minimal delay it was best to reroute buses one at a time as opposed to sending out BDS messages.
-------------------------------------
At the march today the crowd was orderly and kept moving so I did not have to reroute many busses. I was stationed at 9th
and Jefferson and 2nd and salmon. At 9th
and Jefferson I attempted to reroute on line 6 but
she did not follow my instruction prompt enough and was not able to get
to Columbia on broadway before the march. A line 68 and 96 just had to
wait about 6 min for the march to pass so they had a minimal delay. At 2nd
and salmon when the march arrive at that point I moved up salmon to 4th and then 5th to make
contact with 2 line 15’s to reroute them over the hawthorn bridge because the march was going to be on 2nd ave for several blocks blocking the line 15 for more than 10 min it
was only nessary to divert 2 busses to maintain service to Belmont by the time the third bus reached 2nd and alder the march just finished crossing alder.
For the most part every thing went smoothly.
----------------------------------------------
Delays were minimal, supervisors had to reroute some lines such as the 51, 15, and some Jefferson buses.
But for the most part it was a hold and wait for the brief delays
The event march started from the park blocks about 4:15. It was about 2 ½ blocks long.
They didn’t stop at any location, they kept moving. And were clear of Burnside at 5:40.
There
were a couple of calls that I needed to re-assign supervisors to take
care of, but it was not an issue due to the number of folks we had on
hand.
We
did have two extra service buses, but dispatch had to use one for a
fill which was also fine to do since the march was peaceful and no long
delays in
the CBD.
I
did suspend R-Checks since all my code folks should have been at bumps
and not calling in for these, not sure who was taking up the
dispatcher’s air.
We had them start up again shortly after the event cleared.
Overall there were no real issues of delays.
Annie
--------------------------------------
I was stationed at division and 82 to assist with bumpig the busses through the parade and help customers with the line 72 reroute. The line 4 had a minimal delay police assisted and made bumping the busses through a priority. Some people were confused about what busses were stopping what ones were not so I added in getting them where they needed to go. Over all this event went smoothly and helped keep service interruptions to a minimum.
-------------------------------
On 4/23/13 around 2:20pm customer service got a complaint that the operator of 77/07 bus #2815 was weaving in traffic at 257th & Frontage road and almost hit them.
I met with 77/03, operator on 98th & Halsey at 3:00pm. Operator Stated their was a accident at Frontage road & 257th and he had to maneuver his way around it. Operator stated that he has no knowledge of a incident with a pedestrian.

RQTC
° Only
78 customers were sent to buy fares; MAX ridership seemed light.
° Customers
were cooperative and not complaining about fares.
· TVM/Validator
Issues:
° Yamhill
– Cash TVM & Validator were completely out of service. Card only TVM was out of service most of the time.
° RQTC
– card only machine on WB platform went down towards end of shift.
· Killingsworth
SB platform – customer reported that the TVM wasn’t accepting cards, and 5-6 customers had that issue while she was there.
· An
estimated 45-50 Blazer fans chose to walk from Lloyd to RQTC.
· There
didn’t seem to be many new/infrequent riders this time.
Post-Event at RQTC & IRQ:
RQTC:
EB – Stephanie & Beth
WB
– Billy & Lauren PA/Rover - Ed
IRQ: Julie & Pamela
