Bullet point 1-true, but no mention that you really should be a driving fanatic and a people person
Bullet point 2-is $13/hr really a 'liveable' wage? NO mention that you will only have part time hours for about a year.
Bullet point 3-Fit in with school or other schedules? Not sure where they are getting that but I suppose if you want to work split shifts you can fit other things in. Of course this will require you to be a sort of SUPERHUMAN to do the bus driving job and things in the middle.
Bullet point 4-they are hardly "full benefits" other than the fact that they have benefits IF YOU WANT TO PAY FOR THEM.
Bullet point 5-The biggest lie of all of them. It is NOT at stable and structured employment. The fact of the matter is that every 3 months your life will be destabilized depending on how each sign up is written.
The Trimet training does not provide you with any sort of real training as to what you will really face when you get behind the wheel. At least mine didn't. I was an experienced transit operator when I went to Trimet and was still appalled at how much that want from their employees.

1 -$13 an hour is not a livable wage.
2- Part-time work, by definition, is not a livable wage.
3 - This is corporate speak for "do not rely on this job to pay your bills." It's the same BS fed to retail and other high turnover job workers.
4 - Same as the retail/temp sector "We offer great benefits," but don't offer you enough hours to pay for them and eat. (aka the Wage Slave Diet)
5 - TriMet likes high turnover to get the work they need done cheap and avoid having new people stay long enough to get retirement benefits.
It's "Lean Management" practices focused on the workforce. Just like the Mafia, TriMet "leans" on people, directly and indirectly, until they fold.
