Trimet still using the court of public opinion against its union employees

I'm against the union agreeing to the Trimet proposal. I say force it through arbitration and file as many unfair labor practices as possible.

TriMet is promising to restore service without increasing rates in next year’s budget — especially if the union representing most of its employees agrees to additional health benefit cuts.

NYT article other day reporting transit ridership increased last year to all time high across USA. Trimet, however, bucked that national trend and had ridership decrease. What to do? What else, time again to reward visionary Trimet execs with more secret bonuses and raises!

The union's argument should be that the agency has been negligent in keeping the actual per-insured prices under control. If the costs hadn't been allowed to increase so much, this shouldn't be an issue.
