What Trimet never mentions when they brag about their cell phone ticket app

It basically sucks. All these INDEPENDENT reviews are off the Google site

You're effectively flushing money down the drain. When the app doesn't fail spectacularly seconds before a fare inspection, its either sapped your battery dead, or the trimet idiots refuse to accept it and ticket you anyway.

Useless and broken Not once have I gotten this app to show a ticket correctly to a driver, a problem that happens often enough they let passengers on who just have a blank phone screen. On top of that, it ate $10 of single-ride tickets. Don't use this app, just buy a ticketbook instead.

Just one issue, really. For some reason, every time I tap on the app it always has to restart its self. Other than that, this has been a long time coming. I plugged in my info, bought a ticket and was on the bus without a hitch. Really digging it. And finally don't have to worry about scrounging for change in the morning or being stranded somewhere because I have a flat tire and I don't have $2.50 on me. The 5.00 minimum is okay with me really, I just split it up into two 2 hour tickets that I can use at any time. Edit: I have had to re-install this app AT LEAST 10 times. In fact, I'm re-installing it now. I have no idea why it decides to just evaporate from my phone. But I've missed three buses because I made the mistake of thinking this app would be on my phone when I get to the bus s

Its a good start to a needed Tri Met App I like the app and I'm excited that I can buy a monthly pass at my leisure right on my phone. However, I found a couple of bugs after my initial review that should be addressed. - Logging into the app provides a message that you entered the wrong password (even if you did not) but then logs you in anyways - After logout, if you use the back option on the droid phone it takes you right back into the app again with full access. That's not good. I'm sure there's more bugs and I'm wondering if the app was ev

Consistently won't show ticket Luckily bus drivers have been cool about it, but seriously, this is a broken app and shouldn't be in production

Not consistent, caused conflicts Practically every other time I use this app, I get a black screen where the ticket is suppose to appear. The only way it will work is to restart my phone. I was almost kicked off the bus today because of the delay. Great idea but this app is the worst I have ever experienced.

Two stars is probably generous... The one thing the app does well is make it easy to buy tickets, so I gave it two stars, but displaying those tickets is painfully slow (the bus drivers are aware of this). The arrival times and trip planning are by default zoomed out so far that you can barely read the text, and you can't even save stops as bookmarks. The navigation is incredibly un-intuitive, the UI is ugly, and whenever I close the app, I get a force close message. Seriously, TriMet should be embarrassed at how bad this app really is

Hated it! If I purchased my tickets daily then this might be a useful app but I don't. Be aware that the digital pass is only good for 30 days when the paper pass will be good for the 30 or 31 day month. That put me off right away and when I attempted to purchase my day ticket to get to work new years eve my log in kept timing out and I could not purchase a ticket had to buy one at the max stop. Loading tickets is a pain and like another user said you can't save stops or searches. Useless app. Don't bother

More hassles than it's worth Sometimes the incorrect day code is displayed and requires the app to be reloaded with an internet connection. If you display the wrong day code in spite of the ticket being valid otherwise with, the bus driver may not allow you to board. The app sometimes takes a long time to load and can be a hassle especially when my hands are full. I'd prefer having a barcode that links to an online account that keeps track of the balance and doesn't require an internet connection.

Got the job done If you can get past the seriously clunky and outdated UI, this app seems to work. I was a little nervous about registering because the low quality feeling of the app makes me think the security might be lacking too....but I took the plunge because not having to buy paper tickets is a big win. Hopefully if this catches on they can find the means to make a real Android app.

Persistent connection issues - useless Despite having a working internet connection, the app persistently tells me it cannot connect to the network. The app is useless. I have restarted, changed me connection type, and reinstalled several times.

Awful ui Miles of confirmation dialogs, doesn't remember defaults, requires logging in. Also somehow manages to not find the working network a lot.

Occasionally unacceptably unreliable I rely on the app for commuting, and sometimes I just get unhelpful/incorrect error when trying to purchase tickets. That means I can't get to work unless I have close to the right amt of cash on me. I suspect the issue is on their web service and their client is too dumb to throw the right errors. And please keep the in use and unused tickets on different screens! Create a giant button for opening the valid ticket is use.
