Get ready for Trimet to screw up your commutes

May 17-20, placement of new girders for the SE 17th/Powell vehicle and light rail overpasses requires closure of Powell Boulevard for several blocks on either side of the construction work. Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, May 17, Powell will be closed to through traffic between SE 13th and 21st avenues—through traffic will be detoured to Holgate via McLoughlin and Cesar E. Chavez boulevards. However, the eastbound offramp to southbound 17th Avenue will remain open.
Powell will be fully open by 5 a.m. Monday, May 20. This is the last scheduled closure of Powell for construction of the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project.
