It’s essential that CAT be efficient and well-managed, especially when
federal and state funds for public transit are drying up. But a
quarter-million-dollar compensation plan for CAT’s chief exec? That’s
excessive during a time of needed frugality. How can CAT’s seven board
members who approved this package (it passed 7-1, with Ms. Stone voting
against it) honestly look at property owners in the face and explain
this move, when many of those same property owners are struggling
economically and may soon be asked to cough up more money for county
services and public schools?
