Certification – that annual physical exam you are required to have in
order to keep your Commercial Driver's License. This federal law states
you must never drive under the influence of any kind of intoxicant – the
standard for which is fully twice as demanding as that which is
required of any other motorist on the road – you must never refuse a
field sobriety test, and you must never blow .04 BAC or above. This
standard necessitates a lifestyle commitment: no late-night parties,
drunken benders or even a casual social gathering with a few friends if
it involves booze on a work night.
