The 94 is a joke, I drive it
daily, very poor planning on trimets part, a lot of pissed off people.
Having a major bus route not service a major transit center during peak
hours, unbelievably stupid. Hoping, but knowing that a fix is probably
not in the works.

Hey Al...
I don't know the details...ped fatality at willow creek max bout half hr ago. 723p 9/8.
Yup we are following it...
The 94 is a clear joke because nobody even knows what route it is supposed to take, nobody knows where it's supposed to stop.
Before last week the 94 was specifically an express bus to go to Portland - thus there was no need to stop at Tigard TC; there was little to no need to transfer; and anyone needing to go to Beaverton would just take the 12. Or, you could get off the 94 at Main, walk to the 76/78 stop.
However, since the 12 is no longer an option the 94 needs to provide a better option for those who want to take the 76/78 (or the two or three people who will actually ride WES). However, the design of the Tigard TC is itself flawed in that getting in and out of the TC poses delays. TriMet created two new bus stops directly on Main and a short (half-block) walk from the Transit Center. However, many 94 buses don't even travel down Main (which is the designated route) so now riders are confused because they are told they can transfer when they physically cannot.
Why is the Tigard TC flawed? Because even the 76/78 routes simply pass through - by using the Tigard TC they are stuck having to make an unprotected, dangerous left turn onto Commercial, rather than the protected left turn onto Burnham. The turn between Hall and Burnham is also protected unlike Hall and Commercial. This further delays buses having to wait for traffic.
That leaves just three buses that actually terminate at Tigard TC - the 12 (which could - and should - just continue to King City where the route end is much more logical and buses can simply U-Turn right on 99W); the 64 (which usually doesn't lay over at the end of the run, once dropping off riders it takes off - which it can do simply on Main Street), and the 45 (which could travel northbound on Main to drop off and pick up riders, and then return on 99W mainline - OR make a loop using Tigard and Grant back to Walnut, which would give the route the benefit of being able to avoid 99W altogether).
This would allow TriMet and the City of Tigard to put bus stops directly on Tigard's main street and thus integrate transit with downtown, rather than shunt transit access onto a back street removed from downtown, and reuse the Transit Center property for a better/higher use rather than as a short-term bus turnaround.
Somehow you have to make management think it was their idea to make the changes you suggest. Do that and they will break an arm patting themselves on the back using your plan. Remember PIP was dead when Fred boogied out.!
So, Erik, you actually don't think there should be a nice transit center with covered walkways and no street crossings?
