Hawthorne Bridge Trumpeter Found Dead

You know, in case you needed some bad news for today.

This just makes me very sad. I've ran into him many times, whether on the bridge or on the 14 itself, with his giant basket of different thingamabobs and toys that he'd entertain anyone who passed by with, even on an entirely full bus. The fact that he committed suicide just makes it even harder on me, because he seemed to have such a bright, cheerful spirit. I'm grieved that someone who would go out of his way to bring cheer and amusement to a city would have to die in such a sad way.

Interesting that you posted this because I actually knew this man. I hired him once to do some work for me years ago.
He had a very hard life and was always struggling to survive.
It's odd to me that all of a sudden he has achieved fame while during his life he could hardly survive.
He must have got tired of his daily attempts to stay alive and ended it all.
Sad and quite a commentary about our society.
Couldn't get any help at all while he was alive and now that he is dead he has achieved 'fame'.

I find it all very odd.
Let me add that the reason I hired him at that time was because he was struggling so badly.

When I would see him out there playing that trumpet it was heart breaking since I knew his story.

Now this, I just don't understand life sometimes at all.
And he was not a happy man Cam, his act was even sad if you ask me.
