1,500+ PEOPLE APPLY TO BE BETA TESTERS FOR TRIMET’S TICKET APP
Testing of the new TriMet Tickets mobile app won’t start for more than a
month but anticipation is already building!(Because of the complete fiasco which is Trimet's current TVM system) More than 1,500 people
applied to beta test the mobile ticketing app that will allow riders to
easily and conveniently buy and use fares from their smartphones.
TriMet’s mobile ticketing app, being developed by local software company
GlobeSherpa,(and guess who has a large financial stake in this? CAROLYN YOUNG!) will save the agency money by reducing the operating cost
associated with printed fares. It will also bring the agency one step
closer to a state-of-the-art electronic fare collection system that will
eventually provide all riders – not just those with smartphones – with
easy and convenient ways to pay their fare.
