SPIN BABY SPIN!
TriMet rush hour ridership up 2.1 percent(pathetic)
- Quarterly trips were up 0.5 percent to 23,441,030
- Weekly trips were flat 0.0 percent at 1,844,250
- Weekday trips were up 0.3 percent to 306,430
- Weekend trips were down 1.5 percent to 312,100
- Peak trips were up 2.1 percent to 98,930
TriMet ridership’s slight decline was due to the end of the Free Rail
Zone, the introduction of a new fare structure, a 2012 fare increase,
greater fare enforcement and less service due to cuts during the great
recession (OK we will agree with most of this statement, other than the GREAT RECESSION propaganda. They keep rolling out that nonsense every time they need an excuse for something. We now know that so called 'great recession' was fabricated to begin the world wide war against the unions and the citizens)
(I almost forgot about WES, it was up about 200 trips which means ridership increased 18.4% WOWEEEEE! What a success that is serving about 800 riders each and every day)
