I don't even understand why the Trimet Board of Directors (aka Trimet sock puppets) bothers to take bids on the work they contract for. Everyone of them comes back later and wants more. And they always get more too! Here we have HOFFMAN CONSTRUCTION which is another possession of the local oligarchy . There is always 'unexpected occurrences' or 'changes to bid specs' that create this extra handouts. In this case Hoffman want an additional $2,917,342 (how's that for a nice odd number) on top of the $22,889,881they already got!! And they will get it of course!
"But we have to spend it on that, that's the rules" Ya the rules of a fixed game that is.
See there is always money available from our government for this sort of thing, millions upon millions are handed out via adjusted contracts.
But when it comes to the employees or the riders, there is never enough money available to give them what they deserve. No, everyone has to sacrifice, unless you're a Trimet executive or a Trimet contractor, we have plenty of money for those folks.
When will people wake up to the con game that is being played on them. There is more than enough money, 'they' just don't want 'us' to have it.

"In 21st century America, contracts and the rule of law apparently don't mean anything if the people at the other end are ordinary workers."

Contrastingly, contracts between government agencies and corporations apparently mean everything, eh?
