According to Oregon gov. Retread, the light rail bridge between Porkland and Vancouver "remains on track"
as of yesterday. Despite being repeatedly told that the startup
deadline was three months ago, and despite declaring the project dead
after Washington State Senate refused to fund any of it, Retread now
claims that no, we can still get federal money for light rail. Odd, how
the propaganda seems to change so often.
He and other members of the Friends of Neil Club are clearly desperate to line their pockets
ram light rail into an unwilling community in another state. Of course,
a growing number of folks in Oregon don't want it, either, but unions
do. Because light rail is a cash cow for them.
And really, Retread just want to make them happy; had it not been for
their last-minute support, he and his squeeze wouldn't be sitting
pretty in Salem today. Gotta appease them boys if he wants another term
in orifice.
