Ok Al, let's be fair here.
Buses break down AS OFTEN if not MORE OFTEN than the trains do. But you don't talk about that.
Buses have as many if not more emergency calls than trains do. But you don't talk about that either.
Buses have MANY MORE accidents than trains do, but alas, you don't talk about that either.
THE PROBLEM IS that the trains are on a dedicated set of tracks and can't very well go around the train in front of them that is involved in an accident, or a medical emergency or whatever may be going on.
A train can't get out of the way if some bonehead decides to walk out in front of it.
Ok, so you'll likely never hear of a "rail bridge" for buses; I grant you that. But besides the fact that trains are on a dedicated pathway (tracks)...take that away and they are actually SAFER and LESS ACCIDENT PRONE than your buses!
Not that it will matter to you. Or Erik. You'll find a way to skew it. (That's not an attack, just an observation)
MAX is by no way perfect. I'm not saying that. But it's not the craphole you make it out to be either.
